On July 30th,

Brazilian cinema was celebrated in style!


Renata Jones, film director and member of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema, attended the awards ceremony honoring the outstanding talents shaping our national film industry.

One of the highlights of the night was I'm Still Here, the acclaimed film directed by Walter Salles and starring Selton Mello, Fernanda Torres, and Fernanda Montenegro.

 

The film was the big winner at the 2025 Grande Otelo Awards, presented by the Brazilian Academy of Cinema, where it received 16 nominations and took home 13 trophies!

 

It became the most awarded film in the history of the Grande Otelo!

The event was covered by Canal Brasil and brought together key figures, including Rio de Janeiro’s mayor, Eduardo Paes, and representatives from RioFilme, reaffirming the essential role of culture at the heart of the city.

Jones continues to bring her bold and original vision to the growth and renewal of Brazilian cinema!
